Cole Palmer is the EA SPORTS Player of the Month for April 2024, winning the award for the first time.

The Chelsea midfielder led the league for goals, scoring seven times despite making only four appearances.

He also got an assist to directly contribute to eight goals in April, a total no player could beat.

Palmer's April matches

Palmer's April goals took him up to second in the race for this season's Castrol Golden Boot award. His hat-trick in a 4-3 win over Manchester United included equalising and winning goals in second-half stoppage time.

He then netted four times in a 6-0 victory over Everton as he became the first Chelsea player to score in seven straight Premier League home appearances, and the earliest ever scorer of a Chelsea hat-trick in a match, completing a treble within 29 minutes of kick-off.

A previous winner of the PL2 Player of the Month award back in October 2020 while at Manchester City, Palmer also becomes the first Chelsea player to receive the accolade since Eden Hazard in September 2018.

The 22-year-old topped a six-man shortlist after the public's votes on the EA SPORTS website were combined with those of a panel of football experts.

You can also vote for him to be the 2023/24 EA SPORTS Player of the Season, after an eight-man shortlist was revealed on Thursday.

Sean Dyche has won April 2024's Barclays Manager of the Month award.

Dyche oversaw four wins and a draw from six April matches to secure Premier League safety for Everton.

His team kept a league-high four clean sheets, including one against title-chasing Liverpool as they beat their Merseyside rivals at Goodison Park for the first time in 14 years.

“The derby win is the one that stands out,” the 52-year-old told Everton's official website.

“To deliver such a tactically strong performance and find the big moments in front of the fans at Goodison and the recent history of that game was pleasing."

Cole Palmer's superb opening goal in Chelsea's 6-0 win over Everton has won April 2024's Budweiser Goal of the Month award.

Palmer nutmegged Everton defender Jarrad Branthwaite and played a backheel flick to Nicolas Jackson before receiving the ball back on the edge of the box and curling into the bottom-left corner for his first of four goals on the night.

The 22-year-old is the first Chelsea player in Premier League history to win both the Budweiser Goal of the Month and EA SPORTS Player of the Month awards in the same month.

Overall, he is one of only five players to achieve that feat, after Bruno Fernandes in June 2020, Jesse Lingard in April 2021, Mohamed Salah in October 2021 and Miguel Almiron in October 2022.

It is the first time a Chelsea player has won the award since Eden Hazard did so in April 2019 for his solo effort against West Ham United

Palmer's goal topped a shortlist of eight of the best in March after votes from the public were combined with those of a panel of experts.
