Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta says the Gunners have to be in the race to sign Kylian Mbappe, with reports suggesting the French star will be leaving Paris Saint-Germain at the end of the season.
The forward, who joined PSG from Monaco in 2017, has been heavily linked with a summer move to Real Madrid.
"When there is a player of that calibre, we always have to be in the conversation. But, as you said, it looks like it will go a different way," said Arsenal manager Arteta during his Friday press conference ahead of Saturday's trip to Burnley.
Mbappe, 25, is one of the superstars of the game, having won the FIFA World Cup in 2018 and claimed the Golden Boot four years later in Qatar.
