Jeremy Doku equalled a Premier League record on Saturday as he continued his impressive debut season for Manchester City.
The Belgian became the eighth player to set up four goals in a single Premier League match to help the reigning champions defeat AFC Bournemouth 6-1 at Etihad Stadium.

Dennis Bergkamp was the first player to set up four Premier League goals in a single appearance, doing so for Arsenal against Leicester City in February 1999.
Doku also struck the opener, making him one of several stars to be involved in five or more goals in one match.
He is the first to do so, since team-mate Erling Haaland scored a hat-trick and created two more in City's 6-3 victory over Manchester United in October 2022.
Players to assist four goals in a PL match
Player | Season | Opponent |
---|---|---|
Dennis Bergkamp | 1998/99 | Leicester |
Jose Antonio Reyes | 2005/06 | Middlesbrough |
Cesc Fabregas | 2009/10 | Blackburn |
Emmanuel Adebayor | 2011/12 | Newcastle |
Santi Cazorla | 2012/13 | Wigan |
Harry Kane | 2020/21 | Southampton |
Paul Pogba | 2021/22 | Leeds |
Only two players in the competition’s history have had a hand in six goals during a single fixture.
Alan Shearer scored five and assisted one as Newcastle United beat Sheffield Wednesday 8-0 in September 1999, and Jurgen Klinsmann hit four goals and set two up as Spurs won 6-2 at Wimbledon in May 1998.
