The US pundits have stolen a march in our Clash Across the Pond League - a contest combining two teams of Fantasy Premier League Draft experts.

Neal Thurman (Rotoworld_PL) beat Steve Rothgeb (10 Huddersfield Lane) in their table-topping encounter in Gameweek 15 and both are now tied at the summit.

Meanwhile, Mark Sutherns is among the UK team members trying to make up ground.

We caught up with him for some insight on his squad preparations for the busy month to come.

Team name: Sutherns Comfort

Current squad: Begovic, Elliot; Vertonghen, Trippier, Moses, Mee, Moreno; Ozil, Salah, Richarlison, Zaha, B Silva; Jesus, Vardy, Ibrahimovic

With Tottenham Hotspur's derby encounter against West Ham United rescheduled from Gameweek 21 to 22, I immediately pondered how to exploit the change.

This is more difficult in a head-to-head league but if you are playing in a classic league (where points over the season are key to success) then you can devise a very effective strategy.

Come Gameweek 22, you have the potential for more points if you can field Spurs and West Ham players with the chance of playing two fixtures.

However, with the matches only two days apart, rotation in both line-ups seems inevitable.

Even in my head-to-head league, I'll be plotting a move for a goalkeeper and both Joe Hart and Adrian are available. Whoever is the first choice for David Moyes's side at that point will surely earn starts in both matches, earning me save points, if not a clean sheet or two.

Elsewhere, I’ll be scouring my league's waiver market leading up to Gameweek 22 and tracking players carefully.

We have to remember that both Spurs and West Ham will be missing from Gameweek 21, so if you already hold some of their players, you will need to plan accordingly to ensure you can field a full XI.

The Draft managers who can adapt their squad for these two Gameweeks can gain an advantage coming out of the Christmas period.

Plan now to make sure you don't miss out.
