Wolverhampton Wanderers have announced Nuno Espirito Santo will leave his position as head coach after Sunday’s match against Manchester United.

In four seasons at Wolves, Nuno has led the club to promotion to the Premier League in 2018, as well as back-to-back seventh-placed finishes, the highest the club have achieved in the competition.

The seventh-place finish Wolves achieved in 2018/19 was the highest for a promoted side in the Premier League since Ipswich Town were fifth in 2000/01. 

He won the Barclays Manager of the Month award three times during his seasons in the Premier League.  

Heading into the final day his team sit 12th in the table.

"Since the first day we arrived at Compton, our ambition was to make a positive change and push this football club forward," Nuno told Wolves’ official website.

"I am proud to say that we did that every single day. We achieved our goals, we did it with passion and we did it together.
