Pep Guardiola's rotation is making Manchester City midfielders risky targets in Fantasy Premier League but Kevin De Bruyne is well worth the gamble, given his £9.7m price-tag, according to the experts.

Owners of Raheem Sterling (£11.2m) were shocked in Gameweek 9 when he was an unused substitute for City's 5-0 victory over Burnley.

But De Bruyne did make a cameo appearance, returning from an injury that has kept him out for most of the season so far.

And in the latest episode of the FPL Show, experts Holly Shand and David Munday insist that, unlike the more expensive Sterling, the Belgian represents value.

De Bruyne played 95 per cent of his side's matches last season and is likely to feature prominently from now on.

"The problem with Sterling is his price when he's getting rotated, and many managers have Eden Hazard (£11.4m) and Mohamed Salah (£12.8m) in their teams," says Holly.

"If you're forking out for a Man City midfielder you will have less cash to make your bench good enough to catch up," says Munday. "De Bruyne is going to be the key because you know he's going to play more games. And that is a budget price for De Bruyne."

"I should imagine he'll start most of the games," says Shand, who is in the top 5,000 in the FPL world rankings. "He's on free-kicks and he's got that potential. At £9.7m he seems like a bargain to get him into your team."
