Under-18 Premier League champions Chelsea have a new manager.

Andy Myers has been appointed to take over from another former Chelsea player, Jody Morris, who has joined Frank Lampard's coaching team at Derby County.

After making 70 Premier League appearances for the Blues, Myers worked with the club's Under-15s, Under-19s and Under-21s.

His players will also be defending the Premier League Under-18 Cup, which they won last season.

"Andy has been coaching in a number of roles at the Academy for the past decade so he knows our programme extremely well and, as an ex-player, has a strong connection to the club," Neil Bath, Chelsea's head of youth development, told the club's official website.

"It's a well-deserved move into a lead coaching role."
