Sergio Aguero became the 25th player to score at least 100 Premier League goals last season, and he says that his last-gasp strike against Queens Park Rangers which earned Manchester City their first title was his favourite, ahead of the HMV Legends of Football celebration of the competition’s centurions.

The striker fired the ball past QPR goalkeeper Paddy Kenny in the 94th minute at the Etihad Stadium on 13 May 2012, clinching a 3-2 win that earned Man City the Premier League trophy ahead of Manchester United on goal difference.

Aguero has netted 102 goals in five Premier League campaigns with Man City, and along with the other 24 members of the 100 club he picked his favourite goal for the Legends of Football event, which will be hosted on Wednesday 5 October 2016 in honour of music therapy charity Nordoff Robbins.

Alan Shearer leads the Premier League scoring charts with 260 goals. The Blackburn Rovers and Newcastle United legend, the only man to reach a double century of strikes in the competition so far, picked his thunderous volley against Everton, at St James' Park in November 2002, as his best.

Manchester United's Wayne Rooney, the highest-ranked current Premier League player, picked his stunning overhead kick against Man City in February as the finest of his 193 to date.

Sunderland's Jermain Defoe, the other centurion currently active in the league, omitted his special volley against Wear-Tyne rivals Newcastle United in the 2014/15 campaign in favour of his fifth strike during Tottenham Hotspur's 9-1 triumph over Wigan Athletic.

That extraordinary result in November 2009 helped Defoe become one of five players to score five goals in a Premier League match, with Aguero joining that exclusive club last season.

The best goals of all 25 members of the 100 club will be revealed at the Legends of Football celebration, which will bring together fans, Premier League centurions and other iconic figures in the sport to mark the 25th season of the competition's history.

The event at The Grosvenor House Hotel in London's Park Lane, includes live music, comedy and auctions for unique collectors’ items and experiences as HMV, the headline sponsors of the event, and the Premier League add to the £7million already raised for Nordoff Robbins from this annual fundraiser.
