Liverpool gave their hopes of qualification into the knockout stages of the Premier League Cup a lift with a 4-1 win over Charlton Athletic.
Two goals in the first half at Chester FC from Bobby Adekanye, an 18-year-old midfielder signed from Barcelona, set Liverpool on their way, although Louis-Michel Yamfam pulled a goal back for Charlton before half-time.
But goals after the break from Toni Gomes and Harry Wilson sealed the three points for Liverpool, who now top Group G on goal difference with seven points from four matches.
Stoke City and Bristol City are on the same total, with Charlton bottom on one point. The top two places guarantee passage to the last 16.
