Managers in Fantasy Premier League have another new attack-minded Liverpool full-back to consider for their squads in 2025/26.
The Reds' capture of Milos Kerkez follows the arrival of Jeremie Frimpong, who combined five goals with five assists as a right-sided wing-back for Bayer Leverkusen in last season’s Bundesliga.
Kerkez impressed while playing at AFC Bournemouth last season, starting all 38 Premier League matches.
In that time, the 21-year-old served up two goals, six assists and 134 points, the sixth-most of any defender in Fantasy.
One of the most creative full-backs
Notably, Kerkez brings a direct and aggressive playing style, with his underlying stats from the 2024/25 campaign placing him among the most creative full-backs in the league.
He finished sixth among defenders for crosses (142), seventh for chances created from open play (34) and joint-fourth for successful final-third passes (370).
Playing in a Liverpool team who were comfortably top of the table in 2024/25 for goals scored, Expected Goals (xG) and shots is likely to enhance his stats further, too.
Incumbent left-backs Andrew Robertson and Kostas Tsimikas may have only registered one assist apiece but the underlying numbers suggest they were very unlucky not to have more.
If Kerkez can nail down regular starts, rather than share the role like Robertson and Tsimikas did, there is plenty of potential for attacking returns.
Should fellow new signing Florian Wirtz take up a position on the left of Liverpool’s front three, where he could drift into more central areas, Kerkez certainly has the running power to dominate his flank and push forward at every opportunity.
Defenders with most Expected Assists (xA) 24/25
Defender/s | Club | xA |
Alexander-Arnold | Liverpool | 7.37 |
---|---|---|
Robertson/Tsimikas (combined) | Liverpool | 6.58 |
Porro | Spurs | 4.64 |
Robinson | Fulham | 4.14 |
Digne | Aston Villa | 4.01 |
In addition to his attacking potential, Kerkez joins a Liverpool defence that thrived last season.
The Reds claimed 14 clean sheets, the most of any top-flight side, and conceded just 41 goals, a total bettered only by the 34 of Arsenal.
It suggests Kerkez could emerge as a major all-round prospect, with his appeal in Fantasy very likely to be dictated by his cost.
If he is priced cheaper than other regular starters at the back, such as Virgil van Dijk, he could offer real value.
