Arsenal defender Myles Lewis-Skelly has signed a new long-term contract at the club.

Lewis-Skelly enjoyed a memorable breakthrough season, making 23 Premier League appearances in 2024/25, scoring his first goal for the club in February's 5-1 victory over Manchester City.

The 18-year-old England international had a year left on his existing deal with Arsenal, but has now committed his future to the Gunners.

Lewis-Skelly told Arsenal's official website: "I’m so proud and happy. I know those words are simple, but I think they sum up how I feel, signing for this club. I’m a fan and it’s like a dream come true."

Debut season to remember

Lewis-Skelly is a product of the Hale End academy and has worked his way through the ranks, initially as a midfielder.

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta helped transform the teenager into a left-back, and Lewis-Skelly was instrumental in the club's run to the semi-final of the UEFA Champions League last season.

His impressive campaign was rewarded with an England call-up by Thomas Tuchel during the March international break. Lewis-Skelly made history in the 2-0 win over Albania, becoming England's youngest goalscoring debutant, aged 18 years and 176 days.

Lewis-Skelly's achievements in his debut senior season led to him being nominated for the PFA Young Player of the Year accolade, alongside Arsenal team-mate Ethan Nwaneri, as well as Liam Delap, Dean Huijsen, Milos Kerkez and Morgan Rogers. The winner will be announced on 19 August, at the annual PFA Awards in Manchester.
