The former champion sent out a warning to the other 19 Premier League clubs who are competing in the EA SPORTS FIFA 22 tournament as he raced into a four-goal lead in the first half of the Xbox tie.

Jas Singh fought back valiantly in the second leg on the Playstation 5, winning 5-2, but the Toffees now only have one point from their first two matches.

In the other Group B encounter, Leicester City earned a significant victory over defending ePL champions Manchester City.

Painter edged the first leg 1-0 and, with the second leg delicately poised at 2-2, Cosmin was able to dominate possession in the final minutes to see out the win for the Foxes.

Two from two for Chelsea

JSharpp laid the foundation for the victory with a 2-0 triumph and, although tomsmithh7 edged the second leg for the Hammers 2-1, it wasn't enough as they lost 3-2 on aggregate.

Newcomers Brentford got their campaign off to a successful start as they inflicted on Arsenal a second straight defeat.

SamBrwster gave the Bees a 5-2 first-leg lead, and despite ActualEmperor14's best efforts for the Gunners on PS5, a 3-3 draw in the second leg was not enough.

Former champion facing early exit

The 2019/20 ePremier League champion Tom Leese suffered another setback as his Tottenham Hotspur side suffered a second Group D defeat, this time to Aston Villa.

Spurs were still in touching distance after a narrow 1-0 reverse in the first leg, but Kyrowley turned on the style to beat Leese 5-1.

Another side with two wins from two are Norwich City, who dominated against Newcastle United with a 7-0 triumph.

Wins for Wolves and Palace

Manchester United started with a defeat in their opening match as Wolverhampton Wanderers bounced back from their Round 1 loss to win 3-2.

It was one-way traffic in the other Group C contest, with Crystal Palace putting seven goals past Southampton.

Four of those came from NiKSNEB in the first leg, with EthxnH then securing a 3-0 success in the second leg to help the Eagles bounce back following a Round 1 defeat to Leeds United.
