FPL Draft: What you need to know

We have officially entered a second phase in Fantasy Premier League Draft.

Gone are the heady days when Teemu Pukki and Emiliano Buendia looked like season-long bargains, and some unexpected points-producers have emerged instead.

Players such as Ayoze Perez were written off after a slow start to the season, while others like Christian Pulisic who had never appeared in the Premier League initially failed to meet expectations.

But some, for whom there were no expectations at all, have shocked by producing at exceptional levels.

Here is a quick look at those players who are coming to the fore as we hit the waiver wire for FPL Draft games ahead of Gameweek 12.

GKP: Tim Krul (NOR)

I can't say I love any of the candidates who are likely to be available. Norwich City have locked down their defence to at least some extent and have Watford visiting Carrow Road, so Krul is worth a look if you're in need. Paulo Gazzaniga would be my second choice in a very thin pool, at home against Sheffield United

DEF: Diego Rico

Rico is surprisingly available in many of the Draft leagues I'm in, and a trip to goal-shy Newcastle United means he's got a chance of clean-sheet points as well as attacking returns. I'd also consider Matt Targett, who was on fire before Aston Villa ran into Manchester City and Liverpool in back-to-back Gameweeks. Visiting Wolverhampton Wanderers isn’t an easy fixture but I could see a 0-0 draw as Wolves struggle to break down teams that don't come at them.

MID: Leandro Trossard (BHA)

The Brighton & Hove Albion winger has reminded us all why we were excited about him at the start of the season with two extremely productive substitute appearances since returning from injury. If you think this will be the week when he returns to the starting line-up, he should be a waiver priority. If steady is more your speed then Scott McTominay has only missed 15 minutes all season and is a solid option. Finally, Ryan Fraser has to return to form at some point, doesn't he?

FWD: Lys Mousset (SHU)

The Sheffield United forward isn't going to be available if you wait yet another week. His 26 points over three matches will be attracting interest, even if this is just a purple patch. Jordan Ayew is also available in just about every eight-team league, despite his steady run of returns.
