Athletic Bilbao and Hertha Berlin opened their Premier League International Cup campaigns with a 2-2 draw at Brighton & Hove Albion’s Amex Elite Performance Centre.
Urtzi Urzelai put Athletic ahead in the group F match, but Florian Kohls equalised before half-time for Hertha, who took the lead after the break with a penalty by Dominic Pelivan.
Jon Morcillo equalised for Athletic soon after coming on as a substitute in the 70th minute.
The pair trail leaders Everton, who opened the competition with a 2-1 win over Reading.

Hertha next travel to Goodison Park to face Everton on Wednesday 23 November while Reading entertain Athletic the same day.
