Tariq Issa scored the only goal as Colchester United got off to a winning start against Hull City.
The player, who signed a new deal in the summer, got the goal in the first half of the Group C encounter between the two Professional Development League sides at North Ferriby United's stadium.

Hull's next Group C match is away to Derby County on 4 November while Colchester entertain Manchester City a day later.
