Owners of Sergio Aguero (£11.2m) in Fantasy Premier League face an anxious wait over his fitness for Gameweek 22.

The Manchester City striker is the fourth-most popular forward in FPL, sitting in 22.2 per cent of squads, thanks to goals in each of the last two Gameweeks after returning from injury.

But Pep Guardiola has revealed that Aguero will be assessed for Monday’s home fixture with Wolverhampton Wanderers after missing their subsequent two matches through illness.

Sterling opportunity

Doubts over the Argentinian's fitness can raise the captaincy potential of team-mate Raheem Sterling (£11.3m).

The winger was an unused substitute for City's midweek EFL Cup win over Burton Albion and is set to return to the starting XI.

Sterling has recorded three double-digit hauls at the Etihad Stadium, including his season-best tally of 21 points against Southampton in Gameweek 11.

City differentials

Leroy Sane (£9.5m) and Gabriel Jesus (£10.1m) provide further alternatives for Fantasy managers keen to invest in Pep Guardiola’s attack.

Jesus scored four goals in the 9-0 victory on Wednesday night and would be expected to lead the line in Aguero's absence.

The Brazilian could be a huge differential, too, with a mere 1.5 per cent ownership in FPL.
