Middlesbrough have announced the loan signing of Arsenal defender Calum Chambers, who will spend the 2016/17 season at the Riverside Stadium.
Chambers becomes Aitor Karanka’s 11th signing of the summer transfer window and joins fellow defenders Bernardo Espinosa, Antonio Barragan and Fabio Da Silva in moving to Teesside.
“I’m really pleased,” Karanka told mfc.co.uk. “It’s a position where we’ve been working towards bringing the right player in."
The versatile 21-year-old, who has 58 Premier League appearances to his name and scored on the opening weekend of 2016/17 against Liverpool, could feature for the first time in Boro colours at home to Crystal Palace on Saturday 10 September.
