Burnley have announced the signing of Patrick Bamford from Chelsea on a season-long loan.

The 22-year-old striker becomes Sean Dyche's sixth reruit of the summer transfer window, following Jimmy Dunne, Johann Berg Gudmundsson, Nick Pope, Jon Flanagan and Steven Defour, the club-record signing from Anderlecht.

Bamford is yet to make a Premier League appearance for Chelsea but featured on 13 occasions in the top flight in 2015/16 during loan spells at Crystal Palace and Norwich City.

He will now provide competition for the likes of Andre Gray, Sam Vokes and Ashley Barnes, as the Clarets look to build on three points from their opening three matches of the campaign.

After the international break Dyche's charges return to Premier League action against Hull City at home on Saturday 10 September.
