The home record of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (£11.0m) earns him a place in The Scout’s XI for Gameweek 3.

The Arsenal forward was a big performer in Fantasy Premier League when playing at Emirates Stadium last season.

Seven of Aubameyang’s 10 goals and three of his four assists were at home.

The Gabon international scored a goal at Emirates Stadium every 77.3 minutes in 2017/18, and takes his place in a 3-5-2 formation.

Ben Foster (WAT) £4.5m

Watford have made big strides defensively under head coach Javi Gracia, particularly at Vicarage Road. Foster kept a clean sheet at home in Gameweek 1 and will look to add to that against visitors Crystal Palace on Sunday afternoon.

Trent Alexander-Arnold (LIV) £5.0m

A big threat down the right, his total of 19 crosses ranks him second in the first two Gameweeks. Liverpool have recorded a clean sheet in each of their previous six Premier League home matches ahead of their encounter with Brighton & Hove Albion

Marcos Alonso (CHE) £6.6m

The forward-thinking full-back has benefited from Chelsea’s switch to a 4-3-3 under Maurizio Sarri. Alonso is the leading defender for points, recording back-to-back double-figure hauls as the Blues travel to Newcastle United.

Benjamin Mendy (MCI) £6.2m

The Frenchman’s surges forward from left-back have supplied four assists for Manchester City this season. More than 475,000 managers have bought Mendy for his Gameweek 3 trip to Wolverhampton Wanderers

Mohamed Salah (LIV) £13.0m

Jurgen Klopp’s side scored nine goals in their two meetings with Brighton last season and will be heavily backed by FPL managers. Nineteen of Salah’s 32 goals came at Anfield last season and that record earns him the Gameweek 3 captaincy.

Sadio Mane (LIV) £9.8m

The midfielder has fired three goals and is the top-scoring player in FPL on 26 points. More than 830,000 managers have bought Mane since the season started.

Henrikh Mkhitaryan (ARS) £7.1m

The Arsenal midfielder has climbed to 17 per cent ownership after his goal and assist at Chelsea. Mkhitaryan can maintain that form against a West Ham United defence who have conceded six goals this season.

David Silva (MCI) £8.4m

A key performer on the road for Man City last season, six of Silva’s nine goals and seven of his 11 assists were produced away from home. With Kevin De Bruyne (£9.8m) injured, Silva’s guile can hurt Wolves.

Ryan Fraser (BOU) £5.5m

A goal and an assist have earned the Scot 17 points in the first two Gameweeks. Only 4.6 per cent of managers own Fraser, who scored both goals in a 2-1 home win over visitors Everton last season.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (ARS) £11.0m

West Ham’s away record indicates Aubameyang can deliver his first goals of the new campaign. The Hammers’ totals of 335 shots faced and 42 goals against were more than any other side last season.

Danny Ings (SOU) £5.5m

No player has recorded more shots inside the penalty box than Ings's eight. He scored on his first start last weekend and will carry the main threat as Southampton welcome Leicester City to St Mary’s Stadium.

What the FPL experts say

Holly Shand (@FFCommunity_): "Budget-price Ings allows managers to spend big on the form players in midfield and defence. Aubameyang deserves a chance with his first favourable fixture."

Tom (@WGTA_FPL): "It's a side balancing differentials (e.g. D Silva) and template selections. It looks like it has the right mix to score strongly this Gameweek."

Ash (@FPLHints): "Ings is an interesting pick, flying under the radar, and I expect Mkhitaryan to continue where he left off from last week."

Mark (@FPLGeneral): "I like it. Fraser and Ings are on my shopping list. Aguero over Aubameyang, for me, though. Form over fixture."

Ben Crabtree (@FC_CrabDogg): "All the players have started well except for Aubameyang, who I fancy this week, along with Eden Hazard."

Simon March (@MarchSimon): "This Gameweek should help to sort out the long-term options from early-season wonders. I’m keen to see which of these strong starters can keep their form going."

Lee Bonfield (@FPLFamily): "Ings looks like the perfect third striker, doesn’t he? Saints have had 30 shots in the box and have created 10 big chances. If Ings can add accuracy to that creativity, his owners will be on to a winner."
