While the obvious candidates for the Gameweek 3 captaincy in Fantasy Premier League are Mohamed Salah (£13.0m) and Sergio Aguero (£11.2m), managers cannot ignore the case for Sadio Mane (£9.8m).

"With Mane there is a potential case because a lot of people don't have Salah," says FPL expert David Munday in the latest episode of the FPL Show.

"Mane is matching Salah for shots in the box and shots on target.

"Bear in mind he is a lot cheaper, so if you don't have Salah, get Mane and captain him against Brighton."

Fellow FPL expert Holly Shand says Aguero's 20-point haul in Gameweek 2 for Manchester City makes him worthy of consideration for the weekend but Pep Guardiola's variable tactics and the champions' trip to Wolverhampton Wanderers make the Liverpool pair a safer bet.

"We definitely have to consider him [Aguero] but the home game swings towards Liverpool," Shand says. "I don't really know what to expect from the Wolves game and how they [City] will set up."
