Paul Scholes offers some popular choices for his predictions for the 2018/19 Premier League season, such as Manchester City as champions.

But when asked for a player to emerge this season in the video above, the former Manchester United midfielder perhaps surprises many with his selection of AFC Bournemouth midfielder Lewis Cook.

Scholes had not seen a great deal of the 21-year-old until last season. But when he watched the Cherries take on United, Cook caught the eye of the 11-times Premier League champion and a chat with AFC Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe confirmed his impressions.

"I was really impressed with what I saw," Scholes says. "I spoke to Eddie Howe and he could be a dark horse this season. Hopefully he does well for Bournemouth."
