There is no Fantasy Premier League this weekend but managers would be wary about taking their eye off the ball from Friday.

Results from the fifth round of the FA Cup will have a big impact on their plans.

There are 10 Premier League teams involved in the competition, which starts on Friday night and ends with Manchester City’s trip to Wigan Athletic on Monday.

That final tie is particularly significant to FPL managers.

Missing Gameweeks

Should the Premier League leaders draw, the replay would fall in the week of 26 February.

That would postpone Man City’s PL fixture at Arsenal, due on 1 March, meaning both teams would sit out Gameweek 28.

Forward planning

FPL managers should also be aware that the teams who reach the quarter-finals will play those ties over the weekend of 17 March.

That will knock them, and their opponents, out of Gameweek 31 action.

Depending on results from the fifth round this weekend, up to seven fixtures in Gameweek 31 could be rescheduled.

Guaranteed matches

As things stand, only three matches are guaranteed for Gameweek 31:
Stoke City v Everton
Liverpool v Watford
Huddersfield Town v Crystal Palace or West Ham v Man Utd.

In addition, fixtures in Gameweek 35 could also be affected as they coincide with the FA Cup semi-finals on the same date.
