Leicester City missed the chance to cut the gap on Division 1 leaders Liverpool to one point as they were held to a goalless draw by Manchester City at Holmes Park.

Man City's Matt Smith almost broke the deadlock when he netted midway through the second half but his effort was ruled out for offside.

The Foxes' Josh Gordon then had a late effort cleared off the line by Ed Francis.

Second-placed Leicester remain unbeaten since September but are now three points behind Liverpool, having played one more match.

Manchester City moved up a place to seventh - five points above the relegation places.
