This week's Fantasy Challenge allows managers to pick a 5-a-side team using an unlimited budget, with goals counting for DOUBLE points.

Should midfielders such as Mohamed Salah (£13.6m) or Cole Palmer (£10.5m) get on the scoresheet, they will collect 10 points for each goal.

For forwards like Erling Haaland (£14.9m), a goal is worth eight points, while a defender finding the net would pick-up a whopping 12 points.

But remember, you can only select ONE player from each club.

Here, FPL expert Tom Johnson identifies his favourite picks for the final day.

Pick your Fantasy Challenge team NOW!

Goalkeeper

In goal, I've opted for David Raya (£5.5m), with Arsenal travelling to bottom side Southampton.

The Spanish goalkeeper is in a battle with Matz Sels (£5.2m) to defend his Golden Glove title, with the two currently level on 13 clean sheets each.

Should Raya record a 14th shutout on Sunday, it would be well deserved. No team have conceded fewer Expected Goals (xG) than Arsenal's 34.45 over the course of the season.

Southampton should be obliging opponents, having scored just 12 goals in 18 home matches, the fewest of any team.

I also considered Kepa Arrizabalaga (£4.6m), who faces Leicester City, and Ederson (£5.3m), with Man City keeping clean sheets in each of their last three away trips ahead of a visit to Fulham.

Defender

Fabian Schar (£5.5m) takes the sole defender slot in my 1-2-1 formation, with Newcastle hosting Everton.

The Magpies have kept three clean sheets in a row at St James' Park, while only five teams have created less xG than Everton's tally of 6.37 across their last six away matches.

With a goal from a defender worth 12 points this week, Schar's underlying numbers are encouraging, especially against an Everton defence missing and Jarrad Branthwaite (£4.9m) and James Tarkowski (£4.7m).

No Newcastle defender has had more shots (17), big chances (seven) or bettered his Expected Goal Involvement (xGI) score of 4.34 this season.

Josko Gvardiol (£6.5m), Marc Cucurella (£5.4m) and Nikola Milenkovic (£5.2m) are also worth considering as the only defenders to score five goals apiece in 2024/25.

FPL CHALLENGE MW38
Midfielders

With midfielders earning an extra two points for a goal compared to a forward in this week's Fantasy Challenge, it makes sense to utilise a 1-2-1 formation for your 5-a-side team.

In that spirit, I've chosen two heavy-hitters in my midfield - Mohamed Salah (£13.6m) and Bryan Mbeumo (£8.3m), the two highest-scoring players this season, with 334 and 228 points respectively.

I'll be captaining the former as Liverpool host Crystal Palace. The Egyptian's 17 double-digit hauls are eight more than any other player.

Salah needs just one more goal involvement to equal Alan Shearer and Andy Cole's record of 47 in a single Premier League season. He will no doubt be desperate to break that record.

Mbeumo should enjoy himself against a Wolves team that have lost their last three matches and conceded four goals against Crystal Palace last time out. The Cameroonian is looking for his 20th goal of a splendid season.

Elsewhere, Bukayo Saka (£10.3m) and Antoine Semenyo (£5.7m) are strong options.

Forward

Up front, Evanilson (£5.8m) has beaten off competition from Yoane Wissa (£6.9m) and Ollie Watkins (£9.1m) to claim my solitary forward slot.

The Bournemouth forward has enjoyed a memorable debut season in English football, scoring 10 goals, providing five assists and registering 126 Fantasy points.

On Sunday, Evanilson faces a Leicester City that have conceded the third-most xG (71.65) and the joint-second most big chances (124) over the season.

Indeed, no team have conceded more goals away from home than the Foxes in 2024/25.

One final thing to mention is that Alexander Isak (£9.4m) is currently flagged as a injury doubt.

One of the benefits of Fantasy Challenge is that you can change your team until kick-off, so if Isak is named in the starting line-up, I may well transfer him in for Evanilson, and select one of the other defenders on my shortlist.
