The Scout's panel of Fantasy Premier League experts discuss who are the best West Ham United players to pick ahead of their favourable run of fixtures.

Tomas Soucek (£4.9m) has really caught my eye in recent weeks. In his debut season at West Ham he scored goals for fun playing in an attacking midfield role, and recently we've seen David Moyes use him further forward, where he offers good goal threat. Jarrod Bowen (£7.3m) and Vladimir Coufal (£4.5m) are also on my radar, and, of course, Alphonse Areola (£4.2m), who is the standout budget goalkeeper.

I doubled up on West Ham on my Wildcard, with Areola between the sticks and Bowen in midfield. While neither returned in Gameweek 8 I'm still glad I invested. From Gameweek 10 the fixtures look great for West Ham, so much so I might consider a change of formation and invest in Soucek, given his low price. This would also enable me to upgrade Dan Burn (£4.6m) to Kieran Trippier (£6.9m).

Bowen came in in GW8 as a long-term pick. It's close between him and James Ward-Prowse but paying the extra for Bowen is worth it. Emerson (£4.5m) has impressed but he's on four yellow cards. West Ham have the third-worst stats for Expected Goals Against this season so I'm avoiding their defensive assets.

As Areola is so cheap, I'm reluctant to swap him out for a defender, and I don't want to double up on their defence. Attacking-wise, Bowen is the only one on my radar as the safest returner. At under £7.5m the extra cost over West Ham's other attackers is too small to matter.

Areola and Bowen are the two standouts. However, Coufal or one of the centre-backs also provide great value, especially after GW10. In midfield, Ward-Prowse (£6.3m) is an interesting cheaper alternative to Bowen.

Areola is fantastic value at his price and there are two great options in Ward-Prowse and Bowen. I have a preference for Bowen as he is playing further forward this season and being afforded loads of big chances.
