Marcus Tavernier and Bradley Fewster scored the first-half goals that gave Middlesbrough a 2-1 victory over West Bromwich Albion in Division 2 at Hartlepool United, their first win in 13 PL2 matches.
Tavernier fired in the opener from the edge of the area in the third minute, while Fewster capitalised on a defensive mistake to double the lead on the stroke of half-time.
Kyle Edwards replied from 20 yards on the hour mark but the Baggies could not find the equaliser as their winless league run stretched to eight matches.

The result does little to help either side move away from the lower end of the table, with Boro still 10th - one place behind Albion.

Both sides are in Premier League Cup action next week, with Boro entertaining AFC Wimbledon at Darlington Arena on Monday lunchtime and West Brom hosting Liverpool at Kidderminster the following night.
