Swansea 2-0 Leicester

Swansea City moved four points clear of the Premier League relegation zone in 15th place after beating Leicester City 2-0 at the Liberty Stadium.

After a closely contested opening half an hour, central defender Alfie Mawson’s sweetly struck volley from Federico Fernandez’s cushioned header put Swansea in front on 36 minutes.

January signing Martin Olsson, a left-back, fired the ball through the legs of Kasper Schmeichel after a wonderful pass from Gylfi Sigurdsson in first-half stoppage time.

Islam Slimani, one of two substitutes for Leicester at the break, was denied by Lukasz Fabianski as Swansea held on, leaving the Foxes one point and a place above the bottom three.
