When assembling his first Fantasy Premier League squad of the season, Robert Asgeirsson allowed loyalties to club and country shape his decisions for Gameweek 23.

A member of the Manchester City fans league, Robert was quick to snap up in-form wingers Leroy Sane (£7.5m) and Raheem Sterling (£7.7m), along with new signing Gabriel Jesus (£9.0m), for a midweek trip to West Ham United.

That trio combined for a 25-point haul against the Hammers, with Jesus serving up a goal, assist and maximum bonus points in his first Premier League start. Having ousted Sergio Aguero (£12.8m) from the City first XI, the Brazilian is the most transferred in player for Gameweek 24.

Robert's decision to play his triple captain chip on compatriot Gylfi Sigurdsson (£7.2m) proved an inspired one.

The Icelandic international bagged a goal, assist and maximum bonus in a 2-1 home victory over Southampton to deliver a 13-point tally - his joint-highest haul of the season, providing Robert with 39 of his 94 points.

Despite failing to earn a clean sheet from Tottenham Hotspur's Danny Rose (£6.1m), who limped off early during the goalless draw at Sunderland, Robert still prevailed thanks to a trio of defenders.

Rose's team-mate Kyle Walker (£6.2m) and Manchester United's Antonio Valencia (£5.5m) both bagged a shutout and subsequent six-point tallies, while a first goal of the season from Chelsea's David Luiz (£6.2m) guided Robert to glory.

He wins a copy of FIFA 17, a Nike Ordem 4 match ball and an FPL mug, all packaged in a Fantasy Premier League rucksack.
