Frank Lampard's consistency helped him become one of the world's best players while the midfielder left a lasting impression on former team-mate Ian Wright, who never envisioned just how good he would go on to be.
"I remember I was presenting something for FIFA and he came second to Ronaldinho in the World Player of the Year [in 2005] and it was the consistency of him, the consistency of the way he played," says Wright, who alongside Lampard is among the 23 nominees eligible to join the Premier League Hall of Fame this year.
"I didn't think he would go on to be as good as he was."
Lampard went on to win three Premier League titles with Chelsea and become their all-time leading scorer.
"I was fortunate enough to be with him when I was finishing and he was at West Ham United and I've never seen anybody work so hard on their game."
