The return of Christian Pulisic (£8.5m) from injury gives Fantasy Premier League managers a big-hitting option for their Gameweek 1 midfields.

Chelsea’s United States international had been rated a doubt for their visit to Brighton & Hove Albion due to a hamstring complaint.

But head coach Frank Lampard has confirmed Pulisic is available to face the Seagulls on Monday evening.

Early differential

The 21-year-old has been largely overlooked following the summer arrivals of Timo Werner (£9.5m), Kai Havertz (£8.5m) and Hakim Ziyech (£8.0m) at Stamford Bridge.

Pulisic sits in just 7.8 per cent of squads ahead of Saturday's 11:00 BST deadline.

But his form after the 2019/20 season restart suggests he can be a major influence from the beginning of the new campaign.

Pulisic was among the most consistent players in FPL from Gameweek 30+ onwards, producing a goal or assist in seven of Chelsea’s final nine fixtures.

That run included a goal and assist against Liverpool, his opponents in Gameweek 2.

Promising fixtures

Aside from their meeting with the champions, the Blues’ opening few fixtures look very encouraging for their key players.

Three of Chelsea's first four matches, against Brighton, West Bromwich Albion and Crystal Palace, score just two in the Fixture Difficulty Rating (FDR).

A fully fit and refreshed Pulisic can quickly profit from that schedule, rewarding early investors from the off.
