Chelsea strengthened their grip on fourth place in the Premier League with a 4-0 triumph against Everton at Stamford Bridge.

The Blues' attacking play pinned Everton back from the outset and Mason Mount's superb turn and shot from the edge of the penalty area put the home side in front on 12 minutes.

Pedro soon doubled Chelsea's advantage on 21 minutes thanks to a delightful first-time pass by Ross Barkley, in a move started by Billy Gilmour on his first Premier League start.

Everton's Dominic Calvert-Lewin spurned a golden chance to bring the visitors back into it on 26 minutes, when he dragged his shot wide.

Six minutes after half-time, Willian cracked in Chelsea's third from distance, before Olivier Giroud made it 4-0 three minutes later.

Chelsea remain three points clear of fifth-placed Manchester United while Everton drop to 12th position on 37 points.
