Burnley's Under-12s were one of six English Academy sides who made an unforgettable trip this month to Ypres, Belgium, as part of the 2019 Premier League Christmas Truce Tournament.

In a town where some of the fiercest fighting in the First World War took place, Burnley joined Crystal Palace, Manchester City, Middlesbrough, Stoke City and Watford for an educational experience on the war as well as the chance to compete against top European teams on the pitch.

Dan and Kian, two Burnley boys, recounted their weekend on video, sharing their experience of visiting cemeteries and trenches and taking part in The Last Post ceremony at the Menin Gate in Ypres.

"It's a lot more than just playing football," Dan said. "I think of the massive impact because the things I've learnt here, and the things that they went through, I didn't know at the start."
