Liverpool have the chance to extend their lead at the top to 11 points as they host bottom club Watford in the first fixture of Matchweek 17. 

The Hornets ended a three-match losing streak with a draw against Crystal Palace last time out and would leapfrog Norwich City with a win at Anfield.

Team news

Liverpool's Dejan Lovern has been ruled out after sustaining a muscle injury in the UEFA Champions League.

Jurgen Klopp is also unable to call on Joel Matip, who continues to be sidelined with a knee problem.

Craig Dawson will be available for Watford having recovered from a head injury.

Head coach Nigel Pearson will assess injured duo Roberto Pereyra and Adam Masina, but Jose Holebas is ruled out with an ankle problem.
