Roberto Firmino's late goal handed Liverpool a 2-1 win over Crystal Palace as the leaders made it 30 Premier League matches without defeat.

Just three minutes after Palace had equalised at Selhurst Park the Brazilian finished off a goalmouth scramble to keep Liverpool's lead at eight points.

Palace thought they had taken the lead just before half-time when James Tomkins headed in Luka Milivojevic's free-kick, but it was overturned after the VAR saw that Jordan Ayew had fouled Dejan Lovren in the area.

Liverpool broke the deadlock four minutes into the second half through Sadio Mane's eighth goal in 10 Premier League matches against Palace.

It was 1-1 on 82 minutes, Wilfried Zaha drilling the ball in, but Firmino produced the decisive moment with five minutes remaining.

Liverpool remain eight points clear of Leicester City, while Palace drop to 13th with 15 points.
