Ryan Caister
Ryan upset the odds to win Brighton & Hove Albion's club playoff and qualify for the ePremier League Xbox finals last season, having been a relatively inexperienced EA SPORTS FIFA player.
How important is it for you to represent your club?
It means a lot and I will do everything I can to win. However, if I don't, I know someone better will be representing the club I have supported for most of my life.
How did you become an ePL finalist?
Coming from a sport science and coaching background, I took it as a personal challenge to go from playing as a hobby in my spare time with my friends, to playing/ training with the intention of coming top 16 to qualify for the club playoff, to winning the club playoff.
What did it feel like to qualify for the club playoffs?
A relief as it was my main aim at the start of the process.
What was it like representing Brighton in the finals?
A dream and a huge honour.
What sets ePL apart from other competitions?
The fact that anyone can enter, regardless of skill level.
Top three tips for anyone new to the ePL?
1. Enjoy the process
2. Understand your own strengths and weaknesses
3. Prepare for each match
What advice would you give amateurs for setting up their team for playing online?
Set up the team to your playing style, don't copy other players or professionals.
What formation and tactics work best for you when playing online?
To be honest, I am still looking for my most effective formation and custom tactics.
