Wolverhampton Wanderers have overcome a slow start to 2019/20 and head to Newcastle United on a four-match unbeaten run.

Newcastle slipped into the bottom three with defeat at Chelsea last weekend but the Magpies have not been beaten at home since the opening day of the season.

Team news

Steve Bruce confirms the absence of both Andy Carroll and Fabian Schar for Newcastle with a groin and knee injury respectively.

Isaac Hayden will serve the final match of his suspension while Matt Ritchie (ankle) and Florian Lejeune (knee) are nearing returns to the first team squad.

Did you know?

Newcastle have only lost one of their eight Premier League encounters with Wolves, winning two and drawing five. Both victories were recorded in the same year, coming in April and October 2011.

This is Wolves' 100th away Premier League match, winning only 16 of their previous 99 (W16 D29 L54). Two other teams have marked a century of away matches at Newcastle - and both lost - Sunderland in October 2005 and Watford in November 2018.

Although only two sides have collected fewer home points in the Premier League this season than the five of Newcastle, the Magpies have conceded only two goals at St James's Park, fewer home goals than any other team.

Since the start of last season, Raul Jimenez has been involved in a total of 25 Premier League goals for Wolves. His 16 goals and nine assists are 10 more than any other player.
