With Kevin De Bruyne (£10.0m) missing Manchester City's last match, Fantasy Premier League managers are selling the star midfielder in their droves.

Despite the 28-year-old leading the FPL points chart this season, De Bruyne is the fourth-most sold player ahead of Gameweek 9 with more than 115,000 managers moving him on.

But on the latest FPL Show, Fantasy experts Mark McGettigan and Gianni Buttice have warned managers not to be too hasty.

"I need him to be out for a couple of weeks for me to even consider selling him," Buttice said. "For me, he's the most valuable asset in the game.

"City score far too many goals to not own De Bruyne."

Following the defeat by Wolverhampton Wanderers last weekend, the Premier League champions are now eight points behind leaders Liverpool but McGettigan says that gap should only encourage FPL managers who own Man City players.

"The fact that Liverpool have opened up a gap now is probably good news for Man City assets in FPL, because they're going to have to come back after the break, all guns firing to try and close that gap," he said.

"So, I've held on to De Bruyne as well, I just benched him last week, and I'm hopeful that he will come back in Gameweek 9."
