Southampton are unbeaten in their last four meetings with Huddersfield in all competitions (W2 D2), while they have won one and drawn two of the three Premier League matches.

This will be Saints’ third match this season against a side starting the day bottom of the table and they have won neither of the others, against Newcastle United in October and Fulham in November.

James Ward-Prowse has created the most chances of any player who has yet to provide a PL assist this season, with 47.

Shane Long can become the first Southampton player to score in a fourth successive PL home match since James Beattie in April 2003.
