Rafael Benitez says late goals in recent matches have given his Newcastle United team confidence ahead of their trip to Arsenal on Monday night.
After Ayoze Perez struck twice in the last 10 minutes to beat Everton in Matchweek 30, a stoppage-time goal from Matt Ritchie earned a 2-2 draw at AFC Bournemouth last time out.
Benitez says these goals show the team have a lot of character ahead of their trip to Emirates Stadium, as they bid to extend their seven-point cushion from the relegation zone and build on a run of five wins from nine matches.
"We were fighting until the end against Everton, which was a difficult game against a very good team," he told Newcastle's official website.
"It was a boost for everyone in terms of the confidence for the next games.
"There was a feeling that we can fight because we are now in a position that we can get points against anybody."
