Leeds United striker comes off the bench to settle Group H fixture against Notts County

Ryan Edmondson scored a late winner as Leeds United boosted their chances of progressing in the Premier League Cup by beating Notts County 2-1 in Group H.

Isaiah Brown put Leeds ahead from the penalty spot on 31 minutes, after being brought down by goalkeeper Max Culverwell.

Notts County were level in the 57th minute when Will Patching fired in a brilliant free-kick from 20 yards.

Leeds were rewarded for their efforts three minutes from time when substitute Edmondson converted Robbie Gotts's cross.

A second consecutive win means Leeds are second in Group H with nine points, two behind leaders Newcastle United with one group match left to play.

Notts County are bottom with one point from five matches
