Millions of Fantasy Premier League managers look set to back Sergio Aguero (£11.3m) or Raheem Sterling (£11.2m) for the Gameweek 9 captaincy, but when Manchester City host Burnley there is another potentially explosive source of points to consider.
In the latest FPL Show, 2016/17 champion Ben Crabtree says Man City left-back Benjamin Mendy (£6.2m) is worth considering as an alternative captaincy option, despite being a defender.
Mendy provided five assists in the first four Gameweeks of the season, before injury kept him out until the goalless draw at Liverpool, and Crabtree is eyeing a double-figure points haul.
"Mendy at home against Burnley, is probably a safe six points there, and he is going to spend a lot of the time playing left wing, I imagine," Crabtree says.
"He's already had two games where he's got two assists, so it could easily be a double-figure score for him."
