Chelsea are seeking to extend their unbeaten start, while Manchester United are bidding to build momentum after their comeback victory against Newcastle United.

Team news

Chelsea's Ethan Ampadu (knee) is sidelined, while there are also doubts over Ross Barkley and Callum Hudson-Odoi, who have picked up knocks.

Defender Antonio Rudiger (groin) and midfielder Mateo Kovacic have recovered from their knocks and are available for selection. 

Ander Herrera could return to the Manchester United squad following an ankle issue.

But Diogo Dalot, Marouane Fellaini, Nemanja Matic, Scott McTominay and Luke Shaw all suffered injury problems while on international duty, while Jesse Lingard and Marcos Rojo have also missed recent matches.

Chelsea are looking to remain unbeaten throughout their first nine matches of a Premier League season for the third time, having also done so in their title-winning campaigns of 2005/06 and 2014/15.

Eden Hazard is the PL’s top scorer with seven goals and he has also contributed three assists, making him the first player to record 10 goal involvements this season. Meanwhile, no player has provided more assists than Olivier Giroud, with four.

Man Utd have the chance to secure their first victory at Stamford Bridge in all competitions since Sir Alex Ferguson retired at the end of the 2012/13 season (P6 W0 D1 L5).

The Blues are one of only two sides against whom United have lost more matches in the Premier League than they have won, suffering 18 defeats. The other team is Brighton & Hove Albion.
