Arsenal have announced the signing of Sokratis Papastathopoulos from Borussia Dortmund.
The central defender has agreed a "long-term" deal at Emirates Stadium after signing for an undisclosed fee, subject to the completion of regulatory processes.
The 30-year-old has 79 caps for Greece and has spent the last five seasons at the Bundesliga side, making 130 league appearances and scoring seven goals.
He is the third defensive signing of the summer transfer window by Arsenal, after Stephan Lichtsteiner’s arrival from Juventus, and goalkeeper Bernd Leno, from Bayer Leverkusen.
Sokratis will wear the No 5 shirt at Arsenal, who will open the 2018/19 Premier League season at home to Manchester City on 12 August.
