2005: Crouch lands at Liverpool

Liverpool completed the signing of Peter Crouch from Southampton on a three-year deal.

In three seasons at Liverpool he made 85 PL appearances, scoring 22 goals, including a memorable hat-trick against Arsenal in March 2007.

Crouch left in 2008 for a second spell at Portsmouth.

2012: Michu moves to Swansea

Swansea City completed the signing of striker Michu on a three-year contract from Rayo Vallecano.

The Welsh club’s third signing of the summer made an immediate impact under new manager Michael Laudrup.

He scored twice on debut in a 5-0 win over Queens Park Rangers and sustained his free-scoring form with 18 goals in his first season in the Premier League.

Injury hampered his second season in South Wales and Michu managed just two goals in 17 PL appearances before moving on a short-lived loan spell to Napoli in July 2014.

The Spain international was forced to retire at the age of 31 due to persistent ankle problems.
