A crucial Premier League 2 match will be taking place at Swansea City's Liberty Stadium on Sunday that will have implications at both ends of Division 1.

Swansea take on Manchester United hoping to maintain a shot at titles in successive seasons.

For United, the three points are vital to their hopes of avoiding relegation.

Swansea hope to follow up being last season’s Division 2 champions to move within two points of table-topping Leicester City, whom they beat 3-1 on Monday.

United are bottom of the table on 15 points, six adrift of safety, but turned round a winless streak since October by beating Liverpool last time out.

“This game is a great opportunity for us to showcase our next generation of players and continue their development in a stadium environment," Gary Richards, Swansea's Under-23 coach, told Swansea’s official website.

“The players are eager to show they have improved and our aim must be to continue our momentum and make sure we are fighting to the very end.”

Arsenal can move above Liverpool into second and to within a point of Leicester with a match in hand if they beat Chelsea on Saturday 17 March, at London Colney.
