Carlos Baleba has won April 2025’s Guinness Goal of the Month award for his sensational match-winning strike in Brighton & Hove Albion’s dramatic 3-2 comeback victory over West Ham United.
Baleba took aim from range in the second minute of stoppage time with a superb shot that curled beyond the reach of goalkeeper Alphonse Areola.
The 21-year-old becomes the first player from Cameroon to win the award since it was introduced in 2016/17.
Baleba joins an elite list of only three Cameroonians to win a Premier League award. He follows after former Liverpool defender Joel Matip, who won won February 2022's EA SPORTS Player of the Month, and Manchester United goalkeeper Andre Onana, who has three times claimed the Premier League Save of the Month award.
He becomes the second Brighton player to win the Guinness Goal of the Month award this season, after Kaoru Mitoma won it in February.
Baleba wins April's award after his goal topped a shortlist of eight of the best in April following votes from the public and a panel of experts.
