Aston Villa qualified for the Premier League Cup quarter-finals after Kelsey Mooney and Callum O'Hare helped give them a 2-0 last-16 victory over Blackburn Rovers at Villa Park.
The hosts took the lead after 60 seconds when O'Hare played in Mooney and he finished beyond Andy Fisher into the bottom corner.
Rovers were dealt another blow when Harry Chapman, returning after five months out, limped off after 10 minutes with a hamstring injury.
Okera Simmonds struck the woodwork for Blackburn before O'Hara (pictured) added a second with a low strike from 25 yards.
