Sales of Raheem Sterling (£8.8m) in Fantasy Premier League continue at pace with his team-mate, Leroy Sane (£8.4m), the main beneficiary.

Even before he missed Manchester City's win over Arsenal on Thursday night, Sterling was the most-sold player for Gameweek 28, with 268,000+ letting him go.

It was the first match the midfielder had missed since Gameweek 9.

Another 226,000 managers have shipped out the winger ahead of Saturday’s 11:30 GMT deadline, making him FPL's most-sold player for the second successive Gameweek.

This is despite Sterling returning to training for Sunday's visit by Chelsea.

Sane back in business

More than 64,000 of those who sold Sterling made the direct swap to Sane.

The fit-again German got a goal and assist against Arsenal in his first appearance since Gameweek 24.

He has since been bought by 83,000+ managers overall over the past 24 hours.

Sane’s 13-point haul was his seventh double-figure return of the season. Five of those have arrived at Etihad Stadium, where City face Chelsea.

Jones losing out

Phil Jones (£5.6m) will be absent for the third time in four Gameweeks as Manchester United face Crystal Palace on Monday.

United travel to Selhurst Park in search of their 16th clean sheet of the season. Eric Bailly (£6.0m) and Victor Lindelof (£4.9m) will battle for a place alongside Chris Smalling (£5.4m) in defence.

More than 89,000+ managers have moved Jones out, influenced by his injury and United's forthcoming schedule.

Jose Mourinho’s men host free-scoring Liverpool in Gameweek 30 and are without a fixture in Gameweek 31.

Spurs given a boost

Tottenham Hotspur's defensive prospects were boosted after Jan Vertonghen (£6.0m) returned to training for the visit of Huddersfield Town.

Mauricio Pochettino could hand Serge Aurier (£5.9m) a second successive Gameweek start with one eye on the midweek UEFA Champions League meeting with Juventus.

Aurier is suspended for that match, so Kieran Trippier (£5.3m) is expected to play against the Italian champions.

The potential of the Spurs defence is shown by them conceding only one goal in their last seven matches at Wembley Stadium in all competitions.

Oxlade-Chamberlain's home comfort

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain (£5.6m) could profit from concerns over James Milner (£6.0m) and Georginio Wijnaldum (£6.6m) as Liverpool host Newcastle United on Saturday.

In the starting XI for the Gameweek 28 win over West Ham United, Oxlade-Chamberlain showed his attacking skills by providing an assist.

The midfielder likes playing at Anfield. He has two goals, a pair of assists and 26 FPL points in his last three starts there.

Burnley resilience restored?

The return of James Tarkowski (£4.5m) looks set to bolster the Burnley defence for the visit of Everton.

Burnley's clean-sheet potential has suffered with Tarkowski having missed seven of the last 10 Gameweeks through injury.

Nine of their 10 clean sheets for the season have been in his 21 starts.
