Derby County's hopes of reaching the quarter-finals are out of their hands after they were beaten 1-0 by Dinamo Zagreb in their final Group C match.
Mario Cuze scored the only goal on the half-hour mark to ensure that Zagreb finished top of the group to move into the last eight.
The Rams must now wait until the other groups are wrapped up next month to learn whether they will progress as one of the two best runners-up.
They finished second in the group on four points, ahead of VfL Wolfsburg and Everton.
