Liverpool have confirmed Sadio Mane is set to miss up to six weeks with a hamstring injury.

Long-term absentees Adam Lallana (thigh) and Nathaniel Clyne (back) are still out.

Manchester United are without Michael Carrick (calf) and Paul Pogba (hamstring), and Marouane Fellaini (knee) also looks likely to miss out.

The Premier League's top scorer, Romelu Lukaku, is fit and available.

Did you know?

Liverpool are winless in six Premier League matches against Manchester United (D2 L4), their worst run since an eight-match winless run against them between 2004 and 2008.

Since Jose Mourinho was appointed Man Utd manager, these two clubs have won the exact same number of points in the Premier League (88).

If Man Utd win they will have their best points tally after eight matches of a Premier League season (22), following 20-point hauls in 2011/12 and 1999/00.

Romelu Lukaku could become the first player to score eight goals in his first eight PL appearances for United.

What the managers say

Jurgen Klopp: “It’s our stadium, it’s Anfield, the first game with the Kenny Dalglish Stand and we want to use this power."
